The online abstract submission is closed. The submitted proposals are being reviewed and a notification of acceptance will be sent by e-mail to the corresponding authors no later than March 15, 2009.

List of Topics for Free Presentations

The workshop focuses on the influence of movement and sport on soft tissues, especially on muscles, ligaments and tendons.

From a biomechanical point of view, the workshop welcomes abstracts reporting results from experiments, theoretical modelling, simulation, and new measurement techniques. Multiscale approaches are particularly encouraged.

Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
Material response – mechanical effects of loading
Load cases and boundary conditions
Material characterization and modeling
System response – immediate and short term effects of loading
Load cases during daily activities and sport
Stimulation, injury, pain
Mechanotransduction
System adaptation – long term effects of loading
Mechanobiology, soft tissue adaptation
Influence of health, age and gender
Chronic pain
Exercise

Abstract Template

Abstracts are to be submitted as PDF file and follow the format of the template. They may be of one or two full pages (A4) including figures and tables.

Presentation Instructions

Duration of the presentations:
Tutorials: 30 minutes (Closing tutorial: 45 minutes)
Oral presentations: 15 minutes (10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes discussion)
Poster talks: 1 minutes presentation per poster

The lecture room is equiped with laptops and projectors. Only the tutorials are allowed to be presented from the personal computer of the speaker. All other presentations have to use the conference laptops. The standard software will be Microsoft Powerpoint 2007 (English version) and Microsoft Windows Vista. The only supported video codec is Windows Media Video (WMV).

The speakers have to upload and ensure the correct functioning of their presentation at least one hour before the start of the respective session. Allowed media are USB memory sticks, USB harddisks and CD's.
